Equipment Demo

Monday evening, October 30th, select conference attendees will have an exciting opportunity to attend a construction machine demonstration at the Caterpillar Edwards Demonstration and Learning Center. 


A machine demonstration that is developed specifically for the 2006 ICIC conference will highlight the ease of operation, the power, the agility and the technology of Caterpillar construction equipment.  Attendees will get a close-up view of Caterpillar equipment in action in the enclosed comfort of Arena B at Edwards.   Following the demonstration attendees will have an opportunity to walk around the machines used in the demonstration and speak with the operators of the equipment.

Edwards Demonstration and Learning Center Facts:

Location:  Near Edwards, Illinois, 12 miles west of Peoria, home of Caterpillar Inc. general offices.

Property:  720 acres of land owned by Caterpillar.  The first parcels of land were purchased by Caterpillar in 1967.

Indoor space:  150,000 square feet, including 2 demonstration arenas.

Equipment fleet:  More than 70 machines valued at more than $8.5 million U.S.

April 2006 Expansion:  Additional classroom space to both arenas, new dining area and two new indoor areas were added.  The multi-purpose exhibit center has one area dedicated to an interactive display of maintenance products and product support services.  The other area has an exhibit of various machine components.

Visitors:  Caterpillar expects over 16,400 customer and dealer visitors to Edwards in 2006.
